Scuderia Ferrari F1 Team
The Scuderia Ferrari is a Formula One team based in Maranello, Italy has rich history in the world of motorsport and luxury vehicles. The team also owns a test track, Fiorano Circuit, which is used for testing road and race cars. Ferrari is affectionately known as the “Prancing Horse” with reference to their logo and has a large fanbase referred to as the “tifosi”. Scuderia is Italian referring to a stable reserved for racing horses hence the logo.
The team was founded by Enzo Ferrari who was a race driver and entrepreneur. Ferrari is one of the oldest and most successful team in the history of Formula One. The Italian outfit has joined and remains in the F1 motorsport series since its inception in 1950.
Scuderia Ferrari has won a whopping sixteen (16) constructors and fifteen (15) drivers championship between 1967 to 2007. The team featured a pool of talented drivers like Alberto Askari, Juan Manuel Fangio, Phil Hill, John Surtees, Niki Lauda, Jody Scheckter , Michael Schumacher and Kimi Räikkönen , all winning on their own merit and style at different spells in Formula One motorsport.
Ferrari’s most successful years were in 2000 to 2004, during the dominance of Michael Schumacher. The F1 legend won five drivers championships and a tally of seventy two (72) race wins. The teams last title win was in 2007 which was won by Kimi Räikkönen. The following years the team have narrowly came closer to winning drivers titles in 2008 with Felipe Massa, in 2010 and 2012 with Fernando Alonso.
The Scuderia Ferrari F1 Team has Mattia Benotto as the team principal and the Italian Grand Prix at Monza is regarded as the team’s home race track. The team has recently acquired the services of Carlos Sainz for the 2021 F1 championship who will replace Sebastian Vettel.
